5 Tech Gadgets That Will Make Life Simpler in 2017

We are 10 days into the New Year and we all want 2017 to be fun, life a little easier and technology a bit simpler. We’ve trawled the internet and come up with our little list of gadgets that will make our lives easier in 2017. These are a techie’s dream come true but everyone should be using them. Take a look:

1. Motiv Ring - a fitness tracker for your finger

If you’ve had enough of clunky fitness bands that make it too obvious that you’re trying to stay fit, and they’ve become really common also with everyone wearing one, please continue reading. Entering the arena of wearables is the new Motiv Ring which is like a mini FitBit – only for your finger.

The Motiv ring tracks distance traveled, steps, heart rate, sleep pattern, activity type and calories burned, and is available in 2 colours – slate grey and rose gold. It’s discreet, sleek and stylish, and looks just like a beautiful wedding band!

It claims to be water-proof up to 160 feet under water and can withstand hand washing, dish washing and showering. You can sleep on it as well, unlike the uncomfortable wristband trackers and needs to be charged only after every five days. The good thing is that it doesn’t have a visible screen and you can see your activities and patterns on the iOS-only Motiv App.

It was announced this week at the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) in Las Vegas and won’t be available until spring 2017, that too, in the US only, where you can pre-order Motiv Ring for $199. So, if you like fitness and don’t want it to be too intrusive, just put a ring on it!

2. Hover Camera Passport - more selfies, better selfies!

Buy Hover Camera Passport for $499.99

Okay, so it’s been around since October, but if you couldn’t get it in 2016, you should get it this year. For all those who can’t stop clicking, selfie addicts (I’m one too!) - it’s time to own your personal selfie drone now. This ultra-portable, foldable flying camera can easily be carried around in a purse or a backpack. It uses face and body tracking technology to accompany you all along and keep up with your activities.

So record your wanderlust moments in 4K videos and 13 MP photos. You can transfer all the photos and videos wirelessly from Passport to your phone’s camera roll over Wi-Fi.

This flying camera will make you look like a tech geek among a sea of millions of people still struggling to get perfect selfie using a selfie stick!

3. Kerastase Hair Coach Smart Brush – because you’re worth it!

This could be the game-changing gadget the world of beauty needs! The Kerastase Hair Coach Smart Brush (Kerastase is owned by L’Oreal) powered by Withings just made a debut at the CES and I’m already trying to get my hands on it!

It’s not every day that you come across a brush that will tell you how damaged your hair actually is, and what you can do to fix it! The app-controlled smart brush looks like just another brush, but don’t get fooled by its looks! The brush comes with a teeny-tiny microphone, accelerometer and gyroscope - this will make the handle of the brush vibrate when you use too much force to comb!

This wonder brush detects frizziness, dryness, split-ends, breakage and greasiness. It tells you whether your hair is dry or wet, and if you brush vigorously, it tells you to cool it a bit.

All of this data is stored neatly in an app. The app gives feedback on brushing habits and weather. It also recommends Kerastase hair products after it’s analyzed your hair.

It’s not for everyone though – as the brush sensors are not suitable for very curly or rough hair. The hair also needs to be at least chin-length long.

Orders for Hair Coach Smart Brush will officially begin mid-2017 and will be priced at $200. As soon as I get my hands on one, I’ll be writing a detailed review, so watch this space!

4. DataTraveler Ultimate Generation Terabyte – there should always be room for more!

Imagine a flash drive containing 70 hours of 4K videos… Sounds fascinating, right? Well, that’s DataTraveler Ultimate GT for you. Who needs a hard disk or even cloud storage when you’ve got your whole digital life right in your pockets!

After introducing a 1 TB flash drive last year, Kingston upped itself and came up with a whopping 2 TB storage capacity flash drive – you heard it, two terabytes! With high-end design featuring zinc-alloy casing, making it shock-resistant, it is a portable solution to store, carry and transfer high capacity files effortlessly.

You can store 70 hours of 4K videos, 256,000 16 MB pictures, about 96 PC games and...you get the idea! Plenty of storage for your kid’s videos and pets’ photos! Kingston hasn’t yet revealed its price but we are expecting it to be on the pricier side looking at its monstrous capacity!

5. AIRE Digestive Tracker – when you need to know if you have gas!

I often eat something that doesn’t really agree with me – but I’m not sure what that particular food item was. It generally leads to a visit to the doc and eventually I just avoid having some food that I actually like from my diet.

There’s now an app that can track your digestive system – the innovative AIRE personal digestive tracker.

AIRE, a pocket breathalyzer, tells you which food item is compatible with your digestive system. It is highly portable and an easy-to-use device – you just have to breathe into the device and that’s about it! It then sends data to the connected mobile app and finds out how your system responds to common food items and then customizes your diet.

Finally, it tracks your food intake, stress level and other factors responsible for a proper digestion. So, breathe a sigh of relief and say goodbye to all your digestive issues with AIRE Digestive Tracker!

Shipping starts September 2017 and the retail price of AIRE Digestive Tracker is expected to be $149.

Welcome to the future! What would you like to have to make your life simpler? Do tell us in the comments section.
