Wine, plum cake, gingerbread cookies and eggnog - nothing spells Christmas more than a great amount of good Christmas-themed food! These treats that you ogled at in US television shows and the movies can now be enjoyed in saddi Dilli! Here are five Christmas treats and where you can find 'em.

1. Mulled wine

A few years ago while walking around the German Christmas Fair at the German Embassy, I had my first taste of mulled wine and was completely blown over. Now I’m always on the hunt for places that serve a glass. When the temperatures dip, a glass of mulled wine will not only warm your body, but your soul as well. The traditional festive beverage, usually made with red wine together with various spices and raisins, has been served hot or warm since time immemorial. Take a sip and it will truly start feeling like Christmas!

2. Eggnog

Many of us are not familiar with this creamy booze-bomb but eggnog is a rich, heavy cocktail made with milk or cream, eggs, sugar and alcohol. Much as I don’t like the name, I have to admit I like the drink. Just what you need in December – a month when you want to slow down!

It’s a Christmas staple now in Delhi too and comes in many flavours. Eggspectation at Jaypee Siddharth is offering it in mocha, rum, spiced flavours and also a range of Christmas-themed punches from 18th to 25th December.

3. Plum cake

Holiday weight gain, here we come.…but winters are meant for that right? The Christmas festivities just don’t feel complete without plum puddings, plum cakes, carrot cakes or fruit cakes!
