Bihu the festival of joy, togetherness, brings a feelings of oneness among all the people Assam. This is the only tradition among us that drives you to our roots. But is very sad to now a days that most of the new generation has not been able to keep alive this tradition among the community and eventually that day is not far when we will never be able to have a glimpse of it. As a part of young generation, it is our humble duty to keep celebrating our traditional festivals with the same spirit as our fore fathers did. A similar effort of keeping the festival of Bihu alive among the people of assam is being cultivated by the people of “Axom kala kendra”. This is mainly to bring a sense of awareness about our assamese festival “BIHU”. Primary aim of our centre is make the young generation learn various Musical Instruments used during Bihu that is Dhool, Peepa, Gogona , Toka, Tal, Khool, etc and also learn the basic . Techniques of Seing Bihu , we at “Axom Kala Kendra” thrive towards keeping alive the tradition of Bihu by adopting the above two primary goals as the agenda of our Kendra’s existence.
