Against the backdrop of rapidly changing and increasing knowledge about plant nutrition and fertilizer practice, the present work compiles authentic scientific information on the source, production and use of different inorganic and organic fertilizers. Influence of individual fertilizers on soil requirements and their comparative volume in relation to other fertilizers has been discussed on the basis of experimental and research work, besides describing their natural as well as synthetic sources.
