Have you ever entered a place that makes you smile instantly? That is how I felt when I entered Chai Pe Charcha. After a long tiring day at work, I stepped in to Chai Pe Charcha in Lower Parel to meet my friend. This cute cafe is decorated with full desi inspiration - colourful furniture, funny, quirky wall art and small tea glass bulb holders hanging from the ceiling made plenty for discussion!

For those who enjoy the simple tapri Culture of Mumbai, it is an ideal setting. There is simplicity, there is sophistication and comfort. We ordered the Hajmola Chai with Bun-Maska. Hajmola Chai is basically lemon tea with hajmola and this unusual combo is piping hot, chatpata and tangy – yum! We also had the "Gulkand Bun-Maska"- soft brown buns stuffed with a layer of maska and a layer of gulkand smeared atop, it was probably one of the simplest delicacies you could try. We loved this one!

No roadside or sophisticated cafe that serves brilliant chai like this would think of not having Maggi on their menu. So of course we tried the– Meri Wali Maggi. A generous portion of Maggi with loads of veggies, cooked just right. Very comforting!

We were full and packed but we definitely couldn’t go without dessert. That’s where the Chocolate Paratha comes in. Oodles of melty chocolate between perfectly tava-toasted layers – warm and buttery on the outside and sweet and heavenly on the inside!
